The property had been in the same family for more than 50 years, serving not only as an investment but also as a home to numerous relatives over the decades. When it came to market, they were able to offer six vacant two-bedroom apartments.
Not long ago, a building with this much vacancy would have been viewed as a major challenge. Financing was harder to secure, there was no income in place, and the cost of remodeling weighed heavily on buyers. What a difference a year makes. We received eight competing offers and closed the sale at $600,000 over the asking price.
